Fun With Abortion
My parents were livid with me tonight. Why? Because I said I was against abortion in most situations, and felt it would be best if the courts decided on whether abortions were acceptable on a case by case basis.

It annoys me. So much about the abortion debate is subjective. There are certain points in the debate that we cannot factually claim as truth. Yet people fight endlessly about it as though their side has actual real facts. Things like when life begins is completely subjective. I'm not saying one side is right or wrong, I'm just saying my opinion on the matter. And yet the family gets all pissy about it, b/c it's not what they believe.

I'm not even going to get into the flaws in your own argument. >.<

A COURT HEARING/CASE?? They baby would probably already be born if we left it up to our courts and the rate in which they drag their feet, and the pro-lifer lawyer factor. WTF.

Don't make it harder for a woman to get an aborion than it already is. And don't have another child born into an already overcrowded fostercare system (because face it, if the child isn't pearly white or asian, the adoption rate drops signifigantly.) -- or worse, have it born unwanted into a family that beats it to death like what's happening with so many kids in NYC?

Sorry.

Sorry?

What argument was I making? My opinion that a lot about abortion is subjective? I would love to know how you can prove my opinion on a matter wrong.

As for the court thing. I'm not saying I particularly like the idea of it being done in court. I happen to believe however, that a lot of abortions are unnecessary. I don't think it should be used as a form of birth control. To me, it's the more irresponsible method. I'm sure you have plenty of reasons/ways to counter this argument and more. I'd also be willing to wager that several of those arguments would wind up turning into subjective opinions as well.

'm entitled to my opinion. You're entitled to yours.
